The right service for the material
D&M assesses enquiries involving floor tiles and bitumen, textured ceilings and walls, asbestos-cement sheets and other suitable products. Photographs help explain the location and access, but cannot confirm asbestos content. Attach any sampling or survey report and tell us what work you have planned.
Flats, shared entrances and managed buildings
If your Birmingham project is in a flat or a building with shared access, include the floor level, lift or stair arrangements and the managing agent or site contact. Tell us about parking or loading restrictions and any limits on working times. These details help establish how the work can be organised before a quotation is agreed.
For builders and commercial clients
Provide the intended scope, relevant asbestos information and programme. Let us know about inductions, occupied areas and other trades. Targeted sampling answers questions about the materials sampled; it does not replace a survey appropriate to intrusive refurbishment. Work outside our scope needs the appropriate specialist, which we will discuss before appointment.
Domestic floors and ceilings
For flooring, give the approximate area and say whether tiles or only black adhesive remain. For textured coatings, identify the rooms, ceiling or wall surfaces and the backing material. We remove the underlying substrate with the coating; customers need to arrange reboarding and skimming afterwards. Fitted units and other obstructions affect access and the boundaries of the quotation.
Collection and completion paperwork
We also assess collections of suitable asbestos waste already removed. Include quantity, condition, packaging and vehicle access. Collection is accompanied by a hazardous waste consignment note. For removal work, D&M also provides its Certificate of Cleanliness (Non-Licensable Works); independent reassurance air testing can be arranged separately.
