Whether you want to replace a garage roof, clear an outbuilding or plan an internal renovation, send the Telford postcode and a short description of the project. D&M assesses the material, condition and work required. Photographs and existing reports help establish whether we need more information or a site visit.
Removing a roof or the complete building
These are different scopes. Roof-only work needs a plan for replacement roofing or temporary protection. Demolition also involves the walls, structural connections, services and clearance. State whether the building is attached, what it is made from if known, and whether its base is to remain.
Access to outbuildings and work areas
Include the approximate length and width of the building and photographs of the route from the vehicle to the work. Gates, uneven ground, steps and adjacent structures can affect access. Tell us about electricity or other services so responsibility for isolation can be agreed. Do not climb onto a roof to obtain measurements.
Internal asbestos work and sampling
D&M also takes enquiries for textured coatings, floor tiles and bitumen in Telford properties. If the asbestos content is uncertain, we can discuss targeted sampling. The sampling result relates to the material sampled and does not replace an assessment of hidden areas before intrusive building work.
Agree the finish and documentation
The quotation should make clear what is removed and what remains, including any base, inaccessible material or reinstatement. For our removal work we supply a waste consignment note and D&M’s Certificate of Cleanliness (Non-Licensable Works). Mention any independent reassurance air-testing requirement when requesting the quote.
